Adam Ghitelman takes Charge as USC Men's Lacrosse Coach

Adam Ghitelman joins the USC Men's Lacrosse Club as Head Coach

Los Angeles, CA - USC Men's Lacrosse Club, today marked a significant point in their history as Adam Ghitelman took charge as the new Men's Lacrosse Club Head Coach.  "There was something significantly different about today's practice", remarked Executive Board President and Sr. Midfielder, Ross Ewing.  "As a freshman, I was one of six or eight players who attended practices consistently.  Coach Meister said, our team was made up of more kids who played lacrosse than lacrosse players; he was right!  As a sophomore, when Coach Boland and Brown came, the culture changed for the better and our numbers were up and practices were way more organized.  Last year, we had a better crop of Freshmen and we were more competitive.  With Coach Ghitelman here, practice was awesome!  It was organized, upbeat and informative.  I can't believe how much I learned today.  We have a great crop of freshmen and several transfers who really got after it.  I know it's just our first practice, but we are light years away from where we were my freshman year!"

USC will participate in the Santa Cruz Shootout at Santa Cruz.

USC Men's Lacrosse Teams with the LALL Inner City Outreach!

USC partners with LALL on Inner City Lacrosse outreach day!

The USC Men's Lacrosse Club partnered with the Los Angeles Lacrosse League, Got Game Sports and arc to perform Inner City Lacrosse outreach for Hancock Park Elementary School!

Los Angeles, CA - The USC Men's Lacrosse Club partnered with the Los Angeles Lacrosse League and Got Game Sports to work with over 30 youth boys and girls ages 7 to 15 last Tues. as part of the HPE arc program

Ross Ewing, Executive Board President, C'16, said the LA Lacrosse League's Charlie Meister was contacted by Korey Kalman (widely known as Coach K) from GGS to see if they could help put on an introductory class in lacrosse for about 30 kids a Hancock Park Elementary.  Since Coach Meister started with us as our volunteer General Manager in 2013, he has encouraged our team to do more community outreach programs to help give back to the community and the great game of lacrosse.  USC players have volunteered to do clinics and camp days with the LALL at Camp Troy, Holy Angeles Discovery Day, and A Great Day to Play Lacrosse day.

Last Spring, we also did an equipment drive to benefit the Augustus Hawkins High School lacrosse program and City Lacrosse at Palisades Charter High School.  This summer our players participated in the Shootout for Soldiers where they helped raise money to support local veterans and support their healthy and successful transition into civilian life.  Volunteering has become an integral part of the culture of USC Men's Lacrosse.  It is important to us to give back to the sport of lacrosse and to be seen as a leader in the community as a Tier I sport at USC.

Meister added that the public private partnering the USC Men's Lacrosse Club is doing to help enrich youth lives through sport is an important example of how effective programs can be when they join together to help. The bottom line is these kids are having fun, they are exercising and they are engaging in a new sport. We demonstrated how effective this can be for lacrosse and there is no reason you can't do the same for any other sport and in every school throughout LA County.  Thanks to all the USC and LALL volunteers, especially Charlie Fay, Peter Hollan and Ross Ewing, who help make this so successful!

Check out USC Men's Lacrosse when we take on the Beverly Hills Lacrosse Club at 1 PM on Sept. 27th at Culver City High School in our first Fall Ball contest of the season!
